Monday 26th October 2009

has endured an up and down day in the final two races of the Nikon SuperGP on the Gold Coast today.
Perkins failed to finish the first of today's races after contact with the concrete wall on the left-side of the #11 BET 247 Commodore broke the Watts linkage in the rear suspension.
He then worked hard at improving his position in the second and final race of the weekend, climbing the order to finish in 18th position.
Perkins was disappointed that he did not match yesterday's on-track performance, where he finished 13th overall for the day.
Mark Winterbottom won today's second day of the Nikon SuperGP ahead of Garth Tander and James Courtney.
Perkins will be back in action in two weeks time at the Island 300 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Victoria.
WHAT JACK HAD TO SAY ...
Jack Perkins - #11 BET 247 Holden Commodore:
"It was a bit of a disappointing day for me personally, it feels as though I have let the whole team down," said Perkins.
"The pit stops were really awesome, it was an awesome car all weekend. We had a solid day yesterday, but we started with a dismal qualifying this morning and I was trying too hard in the first race.
"We did some rear suspension damage after some contact with the wall. I brought it home in 18th in the second race, after starting 22nd, so that wasn't a bad result."
